Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TVDrive and the TVDrive Picker web app collect, use, store, and share information when you use the service to browse, display, and play content from your Google Drive on Apple TV.
1. Information We Access
TVDrive uses Google authorization and Google Picker so you can choose which Google Drive files or folders TVDrive may access.
TVDrive requests access only to files and folders that you explicitly select through Google Picker or otherwise authorize through Google. It does not request general access to all content in your Google Drive.
Depending on how you use the service, TVDrive may access:
- Google account authorization tokens needed to keep you signed in.
- File metadata such as file name, file ID, MIME type, parents, modified time, and size.
- File content needed to display images or stream media that you choose to open.
2. How We Use Google User Data
TVDrive uses Google user data only to provide the app's user-facing features, including:
- Signing you in with Google's device authorization flow.
- Letting you choose files or folders through the TVDrive Picker web page.
- Loading the list of authorized files and folders in the TV app.
- Displaying images and playing supported media files you choose to open.
- Refreshing authorization and access state when you ask the app to refresh.
TVDrive does not use Google user data for advertising, data brokerage, or sale to third parties.
3. Storage and Retention
TVDrive may store OAuth tokens on your Apple TV device so that you do not need to sign in every time you open the app. On tvOS, these tokens are stored in Apple's secure Keychain storage.
TVDrive is designed to access Google Drive data on demand for browsing and playback. The Picker web app is used to initiate authorization and selection and is not intended to serve as a long-term storage system for your Google Drive content.
4. Sharing of Information
TVDrive does not sell your personal information or your Google Drive content. Google user data is shared only as needed to operate the service and only with service providers directly involved in that operation, such as:
- Google services for authorization, Picker, and Drive API access.
- Hosting or infrastructure providers that deliver the public Picker web page.
5. Your Choices and Controls
You can control TVDrive's access in several ways:
- Choose only the files or folders you want to authorize in Google Picker.
- Return to the Picker page later to change what TVDrive can access.
- Remove TVDrive's access in your Google account permissions settings.
- Sign out of the app or remove locally stored credentials from your device.
6. Data Security
TVDrive uses reasonable technical measures to protect access tokens and other service data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Children's Privacy
TVDrive is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
